Food was good staff was helpful a bit pricey but I would eat there again nice environment. Loved the seasoning on the fries we went with a pulled pork sandwich and added the jalapeños. Slaw was delicious on the sandwich better than most bbq places around here. I would highly suggest trying blue oak bbq.

Great food and atmosphere!!! We go all the time! Outside is dog friendly. The staff is always great!

I wish I would've taken a picture but the birria burger... phenomenal, paired with an Alabama Light on draft .. live music and a bartender that was on his feet... loved it all. Atmosphere is super chill. Price is really decent for this area and their fried foods are in beef tallow instead of the rancid seed oils.

Ordered their Two meat plate with Brisket and house made green onion sausage link. Ordered brussel sprouts on the side and broccoli cheddar soup extra. Cheddar was not completed melted in the soup and lumped up. Soup was also salty. Brussel sprouts were perfectly roasted and smothered with a sweet sauce. I loved every bit of them. Coming to the Brisket, it melted in my mouth. It was fatty and delicious! Definitely one of the best I ever tried. Onion sausage was satiating and well made.

Had the special: Alabama Dipper. This is a must try! So good, gravy was awesome, brisket tender!

Blue Oak is part of the new development of apartments and businesses cropping up around The Orion theater. I really enjoyed the smoke on the brisket, and it was lean with a great crust. The side Mac and cheese was one of the best bbq sides I've ever had! It was creamy with a nice crunch on top-miles above the usual vat-produced cheesy Mac's at other places. The fries were average but I ordered them to try the different bbq sauces they offered. Wasn't thrilled with any of the 3 tableside sauces but I loved their version of white sauce (extra charge unfortunately). It's hard to stand out in bbq, and between the lean brisket and great Mac and cheese, I was impressed. Wish I didn't have to pay extra for the barbecue sauces I wanted though.

We love Blue Oak! The food is amazing--I particularly enjoy the bbq nachos and the daiquiris and my husband loves the chicken sandwich. It's a business run by some of the most caring folks around, and it has the advantage of being in the heart of Midcity. It's the bbq place that Huntsville truly needs.

Our first stop after landing and getting off the plane and it did not disappoint. Upon parking which there is plenty in either the lot on the street. You walk into a counter with a ton of tv menus to order. I will admit I have great version but the tv menus were small to read and a bit difficult with the font selected. We started with an order of smoked wings in their special smoked peach bbq flavor. The wings were amazing and the sauce was sweet and smokey. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich which had a sweet and spicy glaze, pickles & white bbq sauce served on a toasted sesame bun. I opted to not have the white bbq sauce bc I am not a mayo fan at all. I ordered a side of beef fat tots because you can't go wrong with anything fried in tallow as is has flavor and a perfect crunch. Also ordered the pit viper sandwich which was a spicy jerk pulled pork, slaw, fresh jalapeños. Absolutely delicious and fresh flavored. We opted to sit inside as it was much too hot for their outdoor area even with the fans and shade. Service was great except for when we ordered I asked the girl behind the counter what the white bbq sauce was her response was "idk it's an Alabama thing". Which was not really helpful so we ordered the white sauce on the side.

We went here for lunch today since we've been wanting to try it. It was late afternoon, so it wasn't too busy. You order then sit. Food came out pretty fast. I ordered the half chicken with tots and coleslaw. I had enough food to bring half home. They had 3 bbq sauces to try. They were ok. I didn't like their jerk one because it had nutmeg or something weird in it. The spicy Carolina was probably my favorite. My husband had the kodi plate and the garlic Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. His sides were fantastic too. I did think it was a bit expensive. It cost $54 for 2 plates with drinks. And you don't get table service. Yet they still have a tipping option at checkout. I think a little ridiculous.
